About me...
Alex Rowe has been a teacher for a decade now, in many different capacities. He started teaching music privately while he was still in high school, in Utah. He moved to the University of Utah and received his Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Performance. After graduating he was hired on as adjunct music faculty for Westminster College and was accepted into the Master's of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree at the University of Utah. He graduated, from the MAT program summa cum laude and began teaching in the Salt Lake City School District. He was hired on as a music specialist (Mountain View Elementary) and reading interventionist (Washington Elementary). The next year he had the chance to pioneer a new violin program at Edison Elementary. From the second school, he moved to a district sponsored charter school (The Open Classroom) and taught a 5/6 blend, a 3/4 blend and began a new music program (the "Rock Ensemble") over a 3 year period. He next moved to Newman Elementary, as a 5th grade teacher and a technology leader in the school, for a 1:1 iPad, iSchool grant. He has now been granted the opportunity to serve the SLC school district as a Technology Specialist.
Alex has a three beautiful children and many other hobbies. He is also a professional freelance musician.
